4* Review : A Personal Journey to the Heart of Teaching By John Fioravanti

4* Review : A Personal Journey to the Heart of Teaching By John Fioravanti

An interesting book, linear in style, that reflects on the author’s life as a teacher. It chronicles his teen years, through a brief brush with seminary and exploration of a calling to the priesthood, to his final retirement. The biographical subject matter should be dry unless you are a teacher, but John’s relationship to his students brings it to life. I even caught myself reflecting on my relationships with the teachers who influenced me in my youth, those who unknowingly helped shape my view of the world, the literature I now love or that helped me become more confident as a young adult. I think this would appeal to many readers who are at a point in their lives where they want to look back and stake, finally getting the difference they have made. Not a bad read at all!

I have this book in my KIndle TBR. As a wife of a retired teacher and mother to a daughter who now teaches, I look forward to reading the book.

You will enjoy it. My husbands aunts and uncles are retired teachers. It would make a great christmas gift if it were available in paperback!
