⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Review: ‘Marksley Willows- A Christmas short story (The Last Line Book 3)’ by David Elias Jenkins

I don’t think I’ve read a clearer hook on a first page than “an isolated mental institution for deranged children with a murderous jazz loving boogeyman haunting its corridors.” Reading those opening lines grabbed me immediately. I didn’t care that it was a seasonal ghost story. It’s January. I’m going in.

The institution in question is Marksley Willows. We are immediately propelled into the setting by it kicking off in a padded room during the night shift. I don’t want to give away many spoilers away but this is dark, creepy and very well crafted. What I will say is beware the ragtime goblin man and children who like bonsai.

I’ve not read of the author’s work but I’d definitely check it out

Well worth a read if you’re looking for a spooky short story.
